Our roots

It started with a problem worth solving.

“Helios is the result of modern efficiency and handcrafted quality. We offer and utilize the latest technology to give our customers more for less.”
01

Helios began with two existing millwork companies looking for a better way to automate portions of their work. They understood conventional material-handling systems, CNC equipment, and other fabrication technologies, but years of searching had not produced the integrated solution they were looking for.

02

On January 15, 2019, an unusual custom project started a conversation with a client who happened to design robotics. What began as a request for a one-of-a-kind piece quickly became a much larger discussion about how technology could change the workshop without eliminating the craftsmanship that made the work valuable in the first place.

03

A few months and a few lawyers later, Helios Millwork Corporation was formed. The idea was not to choose between automation and craftsmanship. It was to use each where it made the most sense.

Founded2019

A company built around the idea that automation and craftsmanship do not have to compete.

How Helios thinks

Built by hands.Accelerated by technology.

Modern fabrication technology
Technology driven

Precision at scale.

Technology improves repeatability, accuracy, material utilization, lead time, and the economics of fabrication when it is applied to the right part of the process.

Handcrafted

Judgment in every detail.

Species, grain, alignment, grade, pre-treatment, texture, and final detailing still depend on experienced eyes and hands.

01

Technology Driven

Technology can improve accuracy, reduce material waste, shorten lead times, and make repeatable fabrication more efficient. Helios continues to evaluate where automation improves the product without compromising the work.

02

Handmade Where It Matters

Species, grain orientation, grade, spalting, pre-treatment, cut alignment, and final detailing still require judgment. Experienced craftspeople bring knowledge to material that software cannot replace.

03

Built Around the User

Good millwork is not simply cabinetry that fits the room. Storage, workflow, equipment, ergonomics, access, organization, and the way people use the space should influence the design.

What we build

Millwork designed around the environment.

Healthcare, offices, hospitality, media, residential spaces, and specialty environments all ask different things of the millwork inside them.

Healthcare & Medical

Millwork designed around care

Healthcare & Medical

Medical millwork should support organization, sanitation, equipment, workflow, patient experience, and the people responsible for providing care.

01

Eye & Ear Care

Purpose-built organization around diagnostic equipment and testing environments can keep instruments accessible while helping the room remain calm, clean, and efficient.

02

Surgery Centers

Operatory and surgery-center millwork can be planned around sanitation, organization, access, storage, and the specific workflows of the clinical team.

03

Dental

Doctor stations, assistant stations, sinks, delivery systems, rolling storage, and procedure-specific organization can all be coordinated around the way the practice works.

04

Hospitals & Outpatient

Options such as antimicrobial surfaces, touch-reducing details, and modular interiors can help support organization and contamination-conscious environments.

05

Specialty Medical

Helios experience extends across specialty environments including imaging, orthopedics, plastic surgery, pain management, OB-GYN, chiropractic, psychiatric, and other medical settings.

Office & Professional

Built around how people work

Office & Professional

Workplace millwork can do far more than fill a wall. It can organize technology, reduce clutter, define important spaces, support collaboration, and change how the office feels to the people using it.

01

Conference Rooms

Boardrooms and conference rooms can integrate presentation equipment, storage, surfaces, power, and architectural detailing into one deliberate environment.

02

Open Office

Millwork can help solve power management, storage, organization, acoustic concerns, and other challenges that appear in collaborative workplace layouts.

03

File & Storage Rooms

High-density organization does not have to be an afterthought. Storage can be designed around the actual information, equipment, and materials the business needs to access.

04

Private Offices

Desks, credenzas, wall systems, storage, display, and integrated technology can create a private office that reflects both the person and the work occurring inside it.

01

Bars

Wood, metal, composite, solid-surface, quartz, epoxy, glass, and fully custom approaches can create a bar around the material, appearance, and use the project requires.

02

Storage

Undercounter and full-height storage can be standardized, modified, or completely customized around the operation.

03

Seating

Tables, chairs, benches, booths, and integrated seating can be coordinated with the surrounding architecture and hospitality concept.

04

Counters

Service counters, dining surfaces, integrated transaction areas, and custom work surfaces can be designed around both front-of-house and operational requirements.

Studios & Media

Purpose-built for production

Studios & Media

Recording, photography, television, production, and broadcast environments can require millwork designed around acoustics, equipment, cables, cameras, lighting, flexibility, and what the audience should never see.

01

Music Recording

Bass trapping, monitor enclosures, angled reflective surfaces, insulated glazing, gaskets, cable routing, and equipment integration can all become part of purpose-built studio millwork.

02

Photography

Storage, organization, adjustable attachments, lighting support, equipment access, and flexible set elements can help a studio change quickly between shoots.

03

Production

Editing rooms, control surfaces, stream decks, computers, monitors, microphones, speakers, and production hardware can be integrated into workstations and sets.

04

Television

Set millwork can incorporate hidden conduits, camera and microphone access, reversible elements, moving pieces, and other production-specific tricks.

05

Broadcast

Desks and cabinetry can integrate broadcast equipment, cabling, microphones, phones, soundboards, monitors, and related hardware while keeping the on-camera environment controlled.

01

Kitchen Cabinetry

Integrated spice storage, hidden drawers, under-sink organization, custom utensil systems, durable hardware, and thoughtful interior accessories can make cabinetry as useful as it is attractive.

02

Office & Storage

Built-ins and storage systems can give everyday objects a specific place while keeping them accessible when they are actually needed.

03

Custom Furniture

One-of-a-kind furniture and client-designed pieces can move from concept into fabrication with material and construction decisions developed around the design.

From idea to fabrication

Passion in every step.

Whether the work is a single custom piece or a repeatable production package, the process starts with understanding what the finished millwork actually needs to do.

01

Understand

Start with what the space, users, equipment, and project need the millwork to accomplish.

02

Design

Develop the layout, organization, materials, details, and functional requirements around those needs.

03

Coordinate

Connect millwork requirements with field dimensions, surrounding finishes, equipment, utilities, and the broader construction environment.

04

Fabricate

Use the right combination of modern production technology and skilled hand craftsmanship for the work.

05

Refine

Review fit, finish, function, and the details that separate ordinary casework from purpose-built millwork.

Sustainable from conception to delivery

Named for the sun.Built with nature in mind.

Wood begins with nature. Helios believes responsible fabrication should include an effort to reduce waste, reduce energy impact, and put something back.

01

Solar-powered thinking

Using solar power was a natural fit for a company named after the Greek god of the sun—and an important step toward reducing the energy footprint of fabrication.

02

A changing delivery fleet

Helios has been converting its delivery fleet toward electric vehicles one truck at a time.

03

Plant more than we use

For every project completed, Helios has committed to planting trees intended to compensate for at least twice the volume of wood used on that project.

04

Waste-conscious production

Sawdust reuse, blade sharpening, equipment reuse when practical, and other material-conscious decisions help reduce unnecessary waste throughout production.

Bring us the problem

Let's build the solution around it.

A medical operatory. A conference room. A restaurant bar. A television set. A custom kitchen. Or something that does not have a category yet.
